In
all competitions except the Examiner Twenty/20 Trophy, the League has operated
a minuted policy for the last ten years regarding advertising and ancillary
logos on
cricket clothing for League and Cup/Shield competitions,
which
was re-stated in March 2005.
Up
to Season 2006 it restricted all advertising to badges/manufacture's logo's etc
on the two areas
of that part of a cricket shirt or sweater usually referred
to as the 'breast pocket' area.
Following
an Executive Committee discussion and agreement the above policy has been relaxed
and a replacement one will operate.
Whilst
the following criterion for cricket clothing will operate from Season 2007,
it
should be noted that this will be strictly monitored, and any club contravening
it
will be requested to amend any items falling outside the following.
As
the latter could prove a costly exercise all clubs are asked to ensure that they
abide by it.
1)
All flashes, logo's and advertising referred to in 2) to 4) below must be identical
for all players within any one team. Any individual player logo or advertising
is not permitted.
This team condition does not apply to umpires.
2)
All cricket clothing must be predominantly white/cream although it is acceptable
to use shirts/trousers that have small areas of coloured flashes that some manufacturers
are marketing.
This condition does not apply to umpire's trousers.
3)
Club badges, manufacturer's logos or advertiser's logos may be used on both shirt/sweater
breast pocket areas with each logo not exceeding 4 inches (10.2cms) x 4 inches
(10.2 cms) square.
4)
An advertiser's logo may be used centrally on the front of player's shirts/sweaters
and umpire's shirts/sweaters/coats, with such logos not exceeding 8 inches (20.4
cms) in width and 4 inches (10.2cms) in length.
5)
Apart from the manufacturer's logo shown on any item of cricket clothing, no other
advertising is permitted other than that shown above.
Player's names and/or
numbers on shirts, sweaters or trousers are specifically prohibited.
6)
There is no restriction whatsoever to advertising on tracksuits etc. that are
not used on the field of play.
