The Yorkshire Senior Inter League Competition's future was thrown into doubt
following the decision not to hold the competition in 2007.

Its long-term viability had been subject to considerble uncertainty since
Costcutter withdrew their sponsorship in 2006.

The decision to scrap the 2007 competition was taken as the Wetherby League followed
the Solly Sports Central Yorkshire League in withdrawing,
and it meant there was just six teams left,
plus the competition also lacked an administrator to organise it.

That would have meant that two leagues would have received byes straight
into the semi-final, something which was considered to be
unacceptable and damaging to the competition's credibility.

It was hoped to revive it on 2008.
